Reviews:
* If you live where winter is more than an abstract concept, then the 2015 Subaru Impreza is an obvious compact-car choice. With good fuel economy to match its all-weather traction, you can get a lot of car for a reasonable price, even in high-performance WRX models. Source: KBB.com
* Subaru is known for being sensible and trustworthy and the 2015 only add more stylish proof to that. Not only will you save at the pump, it'll reward you on the road with comfort and versatility. The Impreza gives you the confidence inspiring stability and traction of Subaru Symmetrical AWD with exceptional efficiency. With the 2.0 liter DOHC aluminum alloy 16 valve horizontally opposed 4 cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine you can achieve up to an EPA estimated 37 MPG hwy. The Impreza is loaded with features that put control at your fingertips and technology at your service. Thoughtful things like steering wheel mounted controls and improved silencing means less distractions while driving. Standard on all models is the new SUBARU STARLINK in-vehicle technology with Pandora app integration brings smartphone entertainment and communication to your dashboard, with an available 7-inch in-dash touch-screen and voice controls. Six speaker audio system, windshield wiper de-icer, heated side mirrors, and heated front seats are optional. The 2015 Impreza joins its siblings by adding Eyesight Drive Assistance that combines adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, and lane-departure warning. New to the EyeSight system for 2015 are steering-responsive fog lights that activate individually to help illuminate curves. The 60/40 split flat folding rear seat backs allow you to easily load longer items, even while carrying passengers. The wide rear opening of the 5 door lessens the effort of getting larger items in and out, while the 4-door gives you generous 12.0 cubic feet of trunk space. Source: The Manufacturer Summary
* Standard all-wheel drive; spacious interior; secure handling; compliant ride quality. Source: Edmunds

  • Unreliable Engine, Subaru issues

After all routine maintenance, the engine bearing failed on my car @ 56,000 miles. My car depreciated its value by $2000 per year. Car value = $14,000. Subaru repair cost = $11,000 just for the engine. If you "abuse" the car its void. It's a sports car, not a Prius. It probably is going to be abused even just once. I was an ambassador but soon realized Subaru cares nothing about the consumer and more about selling faulty engines. Unfortunately even upon replacing the motor, the engine will just die again. I loved this car but now every time I turn the key, I wonder if the engine will die. WRX models 2011-2014 are horrible mechanically but beautiful looking. Please understand I will end up spending $41,000 on a car worth $14,000 just for my engine to blow up again.

I have owned this car almost 5 years and have had no, zero, nada problems. Nothing has needed adjustment, fix, or replacement. Who could ask for more? Its not exactly quick, but way faster than a Jaguar Mk1/Mk2 or early Porsche 911. I have a 5 speed, and if I plan ahead a bit, I have no problems with highway entry/passing. The low center of gravity gives it some grip and the brakes are very good. Interior and conrols are sensible. Overall, it reminds me a bit of of my uncles 1950s Case tractor. It replaced a 2007 Mazda3 2.3L, which was a hoot to drive, but a little fragile as time went on. If I had to pick, it would be the Impreza.

I loved my Scion Tc Coupe but wanted to upgrade to a more mature car but still wanted a smaller, fuel efficient, reliable vehicle. I found that with the Subie Impreza. It is a smooth ride, fuel efficient, and I love the hatchback with 4 doors. More room for passengers (dogs) and I like the Roller privacy cloth that pulls over your belongings in the back to thwart thievery. :)
